Problems with Shot pattern at close range.
30' to 45'
Gray is center sight picture with it's pattern going mostly to the outside edges looking like a big hit but with no real energy transferred.

Blue is 8 o'clock hold 1" in on edge of plate. This puts 1/3 of pattern on the plate. This is enough to take knockdowns.

Red is 4 o'clock hold 1" in on edge of plate. This puts 1/3 of pattern on the plate. This is enough to take knockdowns.

Testing shows that shooting the right or left side edges transfers the most energy to the plate for knockdowns.

Paper shoot your shotguns and find the most effective pattern area so you know whether to hold a right or left edge sight picture.
